SUICRO 2013

The 29th Symposium 2013

The SUICRO Symposium for 2013, held in Doolin in Co. Clare, invited me to attend as a main guest speaker specifically to talk on the history and development of cave photography, so it was a good excuse to update my old lecture with all the recent research. Oh, and to run a cave photography workshop … and judge the photo competition … and take some photos of ICRO’s open day, at which the community was presented with a defibrillator. The weather was highly changeable, from rain in buckets to storms with bright sunshine spells. The caves being fairly full, half the workshop was run indoors then, the following day, eleven of us headed into Aillwee Cave (thanks to the management for allowing us free rein in the back end of the cave at short notice). It was a fun, packed weekend in October 2013 – thanks, everyone, for your help. Oh, and yes, it was halloween …
